Swedish Massage
Our bodies carry us through this life, but not without taking plenty of knocks along the way. Our minds become wound up from the stresses of our fast-paced modern lifestyles. Our spirits suffer when we are bombarded with hardship. Swedish massage is appropriate for those who are stiff, achy, and need some help relaxing. This type of massage will disengage the "fight or flight" part of your nervous system so that you can enter into a more tranquil state that promotes regeneration and healing.
Deep Tissue
This modality is a more intense and targeted approach for clients who have problem areas that need rehabilitation. Incorporating deep tissue techniques into a massage can increase range of motion, cease muscle spasms, break chronic pain cycles, and help break up scar tissue after injury. Not to be confused with deep pressure, deep tissue requires precision and communication between the client and therapist.
Myofascial Release
In recent years there have been incredible findings in the study of the body showing our connective tissue to be more than just anatomical glue. We have more pain receptors in myofascial tissue than we do in our muscles, and when this gel-like tissue gets bunched up, it can be quite painful. By gently unwinding fascia, we can not only relieve pain, but also make sure the muscles underneath and in between function better.
